Fall Field Trips to the Pumpkin Farm

Reservations for fall 2024 are open!

2024 Dates: field trips are available to reserve from September 26-October 31, 2024 (Monday-Friday only) 


From our humble beginnings in 1973, it has been our desire to provide a learning experience for the children visiting the farm. We believe that we have designed a fall field trip that is a memorable learning experience for preschool-4th grade children. 

Our fall field trips are self-guided, 2-hour rotations of fun on the farm. Receive an itinerary at check-in and enjoy your day!

Parents and siblings age 2 & beyond are $12.00 per person

*A self-guided tour of Weeland Petting Zoo is available for your class. Each group must assemble for a safety video upon entry to Weeland. A maximum of 50 people can be admitted every 5 minutes, so there may be a short wait to enter. Animal feed is an additional purchase.

  1. Make your class reservation online (link below). Don’t wait too long as space is limited! *IMPORTANT: each time slot has a capacity of 120 guests. TEACHERS: PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DATE/TIME YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HAS ENOUGH SPOTS REMAINING! 

  2. Collect the appropriate admission amount based on the option you chose for each student, parents and siblings ages 2+ that will be attending the trip.

  3. Have a school check, purchase order, credit card or cash ready for your assigned check-in time. Be sure to discuss travel and departure times when booking your time slot.

  4. Check-in for your field trip at the Information Booth, which looks like a little red school house just to your left as you enter the farm.

Tour Pricing

Everyone who attends the trip must be paid for. It is $12.00 per guest (except siblings under the age of 2 years old). 

The teacher pays for the entire group, including chaperones, with the lumpsum amount upon check in. We do not allow parents to pay for themselves individually; they must be accounted for with the school's total. 

One teacher and one aid are free per class scheduled. Minimum group size is 15 paying guests.

If your group arrives with less than 15 guests per scheduled time slot, you will be expected to pay for 15 visitors regardless.

Spring at the Hamburger Farm

Dates for 2025: April 22-May 16, 2025 (Tuesday-Friday) 

Mrs. B's Bakery and the Harvest Barn with gift items will be open to Hamburger Farm field trip visitors and the general public

(For groups of 15 or more guests)

Make a reservation for The Hamburger Farm

We will provide you with the perfect spring field trip, combining equal parts of learning and fun. This special education program provides a guided tour of a farm that grows all of the crops needed for a hamburger. The farm site is even shaped like a hamburger!

This program, geared to grades 1st-3rd, has drawn rave reviews since its inception in 2002. Each time slot accommodates one class and has a minimum requirement of 15 guests and maximum headcount of 30 students. The maximum count of 30 students does not include teachers of chaperones. 

Admission to The Hamburger Farm Includes:

  • A ride on the Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm Railroad to the Hamburger Farm site
  • A 45-minute guided tour of the farm that grows the crops needed for a hamburger including:
    • Hands-on activities such as grinding wheat into flour, milking a “cow” to get milk for cheese, digging potatoes to learn how they are cut into French fries
    • Information about each crop they are seeing and its role in the hamburger, the importance of bees in agriculture along with other “good” and “bad” insects, and the role of California agriculture
  • A self-guided tour of Weeland Petting Zoo
    • Be aware that each group must assemble for a safety video upon entry to Weeland. A maximum of 50 people can be admitted every 3 minutes, so there may be a short wait to enter.
  • Play time at Coyote Mt. Mine, Farmer Bill's Barn, Tree House, and/or other various open-play areas around the farm. 
  • Nutritious hamburger lunch to include: a hamburger, potato chips, sugar cookie, and milk or water to drink (meets school lunch requirements)

Payment must be submitted upon check-in on the day of your visit. We accept checks, school purchase order, credit cards, or cash

One teacher and one other adult per scheduled class and siblings under the age 2 are free
